# Move your boards to Grein

> Bring work over from Milanote, Kosmik, Miro, or another board tool.

Grein doesn't import boards from other tools directly yet. Moving one project by hand takes a few minutes.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick one live project">
    Start with the board you open most. Finished boards can stay where they are.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Download your files">
    Export or save the images, PDFs, and documents from that board to a folder on your computer. If your old tool has shut down or is about to, export everything first.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Drop them onto a Grein board">
    Create a project and drag the whole folder onto the canvas. Paste links and they become link cards.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Rebuild the structure">
    Group cards in a **Composite block**, put big sections into nested boards, and click **Tidy up**. See [Organize your canvas](/organize).
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Let an AI assistant do the sorting

[Connect Claude or ChatGPT](/ai-access) to Grein. Then you can ask it to group the files you dropped in, add headings, or rebuild a structure you describe.

## What carries over
